Children's Gallery
The Children’s Gallery brings the history of Bihar and natural history alive for children. The gallery is specially designed to ignite the curiosity of young children. Education is combined with entertainment and enjoyable activities. There are six experiential learning zones – the Orientation Room, Wildlife Sanctuary, history sections on Chandragupta Maurya and Sher Shah Suri, the Arts and Culture section and the Discovery section. Exhibits illustrate concepts through dramatic recreation and storytelling techniques. Various tools and visual aids encourage hands-on learning and explorations.

Collection stories
The Mauryan Throne
This is a play-way method of educating the visitors of the Children’s Gallery about the history of our great land. A fabricated throne, known as the Mauryan Throne has been set here, which is a symbol of the mighty Mauryan rulers of the historic Magadh Empire. An interactive touch screen panel is attached with it, which impersonates none other than the Acharya Chanakya of the yore. Upon solving the puzzle and answering the questions correctly, the winner is allowed to sit on the Mauryan Throne.
Madhubani Painting Panel
To get the visitors acquainted with the culture and tradition of our beloved state, multiple interactive
features based on modern technology have been set up in the Children’s Gallery. One such is a sensory screen with Madhubani painting motifs drawn on it. This screen shows three distinct folk dances of Bihar, namely Jhijhiya, Bidesiya and Jat Jatin, performed on their respective folk songs. The screen senses the presence of a person in front of a particular choice and accordingly plays the dance.
Story of the disappearing sparrow
I was once a happy bird who could make her nests inside the homes of people. Most were friendly to me. I loved finding nooks and crannies inside rafters of roofs and hubs of fans for my nests. The vibrations from the towers of cell phones also created major hazards that have changed the patterns of our lives. The Government of Bihar has made me the State Bird so that you remember to save me when you can. You can be the sparrow’s friend and help us to survive.
